Hose Reels & Hydrant Systems Queensland

Reliable FirstResponse Firefighting

We install, test, and maintain fire hose reels and hydrant networks across Queensland. When your building’s occupants need to fight a fire before the brigade arrives, our systems perform—every single time.

Fire hose reels and hydrants are the first line of hands-on defence in a commercial or industrial building. They need to work instantly—full pressure, no leaks, no hesitation. We’ve been making sure they do for years right across Queensland. Whether you need a new hose reel installed in a shopping centre, a hydrant booster tested at a high-rise in Brisbane, or a complete combined sprinkler-hydrant system commissioned in a warehouse in Townsville, our technicians handle the lot. No job is too small or too complex.

Why Your Hose Reels & Hydrants Matter

They Empower Occupants, Not Just Firefighters
Hydrants: The Fire Brigade’s Lifeline

A properly placed fire hose reel lets a trained staff member attack a small fire immediately—before it spreads and before the fire truck arrives. A dry, kinked, or uncooperative hose reel is worse than useless. Our regular testing ensures every reel unwinds smoothly, delivers full flow, and shuts off cleanly.

Onsite fire hydrants give Queensland Fire and Emergency Services a pressurised water source the moment they connect. A poorly maintained hydrant can cost precious minutes. Our pressure and flow testing guarantees the water is there, at the right pressure, when a life depends on it.

Compliance That Stands Up to Scrutiny
Multi-Storey and Multi-Purpose Made Simple

AS 1851 sets a demanding schedule for hose reels (6monthly and annual tests) and hydrants (varying frequencies depending on the system). We handle every inspection and deliver clear, auditready reports. You’ll sail through council inspections, insurance reviews, and building compliance audits without a worry.

In large or tall buildings, a combined sprinkler and hydrant system (designed to AS 2118.6) often makes practical sense—sharing risers, tanks, and pumps. We design and commission these integrated systems regularly, ensuring both functions perform simultaneously without starving each other of water.

The Systems We Work On

Fire Hose Reels

Wallmounted, manually operated reels holding 36 metres of reinforced hose. Designed for firstattack firefighting by building occupants. We install new reels, replace perished or damaged hose, and test every component to AS 1851. Our tests cover hose condition, guide wheel freedom, nozzle pattern, flow rate, and valve operation.

Street & On-Site Hydrants

Underground and aboveground hydrants connected to town mains or onsite fire water storage. We perform flow and pressure tests (pitot gauge readings), check valve operation, and ensure booster connections are accessible and clearly marked. We also inspect mainsfed pillar hydrants and private ringmain systems.

Combined Sprinkler & Hydrant Systems

Highrise and largefootprint buildings often combine the two into a single engineered riser system. We design and test these to AS 2118.6, verifying that both the sprinklers and hydrants can operate simultaneously at the required pressures. Our commissioning includes fullflow tests from the hydraulically most disadvantaged hydrant.

Boosters & Suction Points

Hydrant booster assemblies allow the fire brigade to pump additional water into your system from their appliance. We inspect and test booster connections, check nonreturn valves, and ensure the cabinet is clearly signed. We also test suction points for rural properties or areas with limited mains supply.

Hose Reel & Hydrant Cabinets

Fire hose reels are often housed in cabinets, sometimes combined with a fire extinguisher and firstaid equipment. We supply and install new cabinets, replace cracked glazing, and ensure all internal fittings are clean, dry, and ready to grab.
